Too Much Lighting.
I'm setting up a 40 breeder, and the fixture I plan to use is a strip with 1x 250 watt halide, and 2X96 watt actinic PC's. I was planning on adding two 150 watt halides beside the 250 one. I would run 20k bulbs in the 150 halides, and 10k in the 250 watt. Let me know if you think this is too much light for sps and clams, and/or if my color choices will look ok...
thanks. |

actually I would run the 10k's in the 150's and the 20k in the 250 if it was me. but corals can handle alot of light, it will be the fact that you will have to acculmate them to the light slowly.
I run 2 400 watt MH's over my 75 gal. and things do well. |

on a 40 breeder i would use two 150 de's or 2 175 watt SE. The 40 breeder is only like 17" tall so 250's would be overkill IMO
