cucumber question

I got what I am pretty sure is a hairy cucumber. I was wondering if anyone has experience with these.

do they release any toxins when they die?
I found out so far that they dig into a spot and then filter feed with duster looking things, what exactly are they filtering out of the water to eat?

happened to get it from clam digging. so if too much negative info about it I'll just go dump it back where it came from.
