Thinking about tank upgrade

Hi there, been lurking for years and just joined this month and this would be my first post ever. Hello to everybody and a thanks to everyone over the years for your advise on just about anything in this hobby.

Question is this: I started my 80g back in Dec. and as everyone knows an upgrade is allways shortyly followed. Would addind an additional 7" in length, 3" width and say 2" in height be a worthwile upgrade? New tank would be 119G and then still use my 45 sump/fuge. My yellow tang would probably appreciate the added room.

My stand is oversized right now for my tank ( built with an upgrade in mind i think) new tank would be 57"X 22"X 22" where the old tank was 50"X19"X 20".. I could go higher with the new tank i suppose. New tank would also address the things i don't like about my tank now ( new would be braceless and rimless and starfire) current tank is braceless but not rimless or starfire

So what do you think?

40 gal more always help, couldn't hurt. I say if this is the maximum you could go considering all your circumstances, GO FOR IT ALL THE WAY!! But if it's possible to add any more inches, then you should do so. I guess what I'm saying is go as big as you could go within your limits. Upgrades are what life is all about ; - )

bump in the road:

Is there a way to still have a braceless rimless with jumpers? Could i DIY a mesh top and still make it look good? Not really a big problem but one non the less because i have jumpers. hum

the real question is the tang. think he will benifit from the extra 7" or should i think about finding him a new home eventually? He is 6"+ right now
