My micro bubble solution

I have had issues with micro bubbles since I set up the tank. 90% of my bubbles originated in the sump and made their way to the display. I re-designed my sump baffles many times and never got any luck.

Well the other day I re-designed the sump again, this time with 5 baffles. Over/under/over/under/over all spaced 1.5" apart, and uppers 1.5 off bottom, put filter media between most baffles, guess what, still had micro bubbles .

Out with the dremel, I cut a horizontal slit in the last baffle about 3" off the bottom and about 1" high, 99% of bubbles gone!

I noticed most sumps have the last baffle as an over or an under, I haven't seen any designed as the last baffle like mine, doesn't it make more sense to have the last baffle as a through?
