make or buy a lamp tree that sits behind the tank. Need 2 if you buy them from zero edge.

Can you put a canopy on your tank? I had a custom canopy built for my 180 that is 24" call. I hang all my lights in there about 12" above the water and works well.

i had the zeroedge...they are worthless....on there now ...they will not work with the lumenbrights (even with my metal fabrication).
I am thinking of staining a 2x4 board that will run 5 feet down my tank....It will be attatched to the studs. Then bend sof 4 foot metal conduits and attatch them to the board.....does this sound kosher? |

My situation was this: I love hanging fixtures because they make working on the tank so much easier, but my tank was under a drop ceiling in my basement directly under a large trunk line for my heating/air conditioning, so I couldn't come right off the joists above the drop ceiling. Here is the solution. Use shelf track and 20" shelf backets/ the black boards on the wall are attached to studs on the inside, and the track is on the outer part of the board. I couldn't attach the track right to the studs because it would have interfered with placement of the Lumenbright Minis.

If you have cad software, you can download, you can build what you want and order the parts from there. They have an auto-quoter plug in, you can build a light frame for about 40 bucks.

Did the board come as a kit? or did you buy it seperately?
Also is the board just sitting on the shelf track or screwed in? It appears you doubled up the piece where the shelf hooks in. Last but not least the part that you screwed through the board that the chains attached to what is that called...it just screws through and holds? Or does it have a piece to keep it pulling through... thanks....that looks nice! |

I bought 3 20" angle shelf brackets from Home Depot and hung each of my 3 lumenbrights seperately. Very easy construction, very sturdy.
