Plumbing Emergency-WELD-ON curetime needed
Hi, my fluidized sand filter backflushed (one way valve failure) with a power outage and cooked my pump when it went on. I need to re do some pvc connections to hook up my back up pump.
I just welded the PVC with WELD-ON. Packaging states 30 min cure time but how long is a safe cure time? I have emergency filtration on now but have a high bio load and my sand filter is dying. I usually give it a weak to dry. Never did a rush job. Thanks, Chris |

why didnt you use PVC glue, it drys in a few minutes, I doubt the weldon will do anything, as far as I know it only bonds acrylic

What type of pvc glue do you use? This is the stuff that Quality Marine sells and I didn't feel as confident using the local stuff. The Weld On is for PVC only.
I have the drying inserts ontop of my dehumidifier to speed it up I hope.

heres a chart with the cure times, if it says cured in 30 mins that should be all you need, it sets pretty quickly less then 5 mins or so

I have glued all my PVC piping together with Red Hot PVC glue. Seals with in 30sec - 1min. Tested all my piping before installing and has been working perfectly for months!
