How I hung my metal halide...
I know there is probably a thread for this, but the search button is always disabled and I thought my idea for hanging my MH is unique and could possibly help some people.
I really didn't want to hang chains or cables from the ceiling nor did I want to build a PVC rack system on either side of the tank to hang my PFO pendant. The biggest criteria was the ability to adjust the height. I hated having the lid of the BC in my way while trying to perform maintenance on the tank. So I went to Lowes and picked up half of a shelving unit system from Rubbermaid. the following are all from a cell phone...sorry. Light raised for maintenance, but still able to have the tank lit so you can see what you are doing. You can see that I used a hacksaw to trim the arm back so it wasn't hanging over the tank. I then drilled and installed nut/bolt set to offset the weight. I also used a lock nut on the end of the rod to ensure it doesn't come loose and fall in the tank. Nickxp also used this method for hanging his MH pendant. Hope this may help some people when deciding how to hang theirs! Feel free to add pics of your own set up!!

thanks! I thought it was pretty original and would do it on any other open top tanks I may have in the future.
