Need help with chiller pleeese!
I have a Current USA Prime Tower Inline Chiller model # 2645,2646 and about a month ago it started to have a problem with the temperature controller. The display indicated 122F. According to the instructions it was a problem with the temperature sensor. Since I have and external controller I just started using the controller because the chiller was cooling.
Now the display indicates P2 but the chiller is not turning on. I unplugged and plugged the chiller with no luck. Can I override the internal controller in some way? Can I do that? Is P2 a different error message not related to the controller? Maybe somebody here at the forum may have an answer. Please let me know as soon as possible. My aquarium temperature is rising fast!! Thanks. |

Does it have a fuse? If so did you check to see if it's blown?
If the temp sensor, on the unit, is indicating 122 deg. then the chiller will run constantly. If it's running constantly it may overheat and go off on "High head pressure" cut out. I don't have one of these on my chiller but it's the same thing that's on your frige. Or it may have just blown the fuse. If you can remove the thermostat (temp controller) then you can remove the two power leads to the controller. Connect the two leads together and plug the chiller in so that your Neptune or whatever controller you're using can control the chiller. All the thermostat is, is a switch. By pulling the one that is installed and using an aquarium controller you bypass the factory installed "Switch". This is only temporary. You should have two ways to cut off your heater and your chiller. It should be redundant. Hope this works. (Before you go unplugging things make sure you unplug the thing from the wall.) |
