Need a protein skimmer....

I am in the process of setting up a FOWLR tank. It is a 265 gallon perfecto. I would like to keep all the filtration under the tank and as such would like to house the protein skimmer there. The shortest, most powerful (for it's height) skimmer I could find is the octopus MSX extreme 300. I am still not sure at 24.75" if it will definately fit as I do not have the tank yet. The issue is that my filtration system is being custom made and likely before I recieve the tank. So my question is; Is there a shorter, more powerful skimmer than the octopus in the same price range (give or take $100)?
