Need some help ASAP with these lights!

So I have very simple quick question for you all since I cant seem to find a good one online! OK so I want to know the difference between a fluorescent light and a T5 light? Or lets say 18.000k fluorescent light like this http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=2754094 and a T5 HO light like this? http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=3060924 I know that the first one is 24" 20w and the T5 is 24" 24w. So I know the w is higher but is that it? I currently have a 20L with 2 of the 18k light above but over driven running at 40w each and a 6700k running at 20w so I have 100w on this tank. Would it really make that much of a diff by putting 4 24" 24w T5 HO's on it? Let me know!

The only real difference between the 2 bulbs is that the intesity is greater on the T5, and the life of the bulbs are a little better on the T5 as well.

The first ones are T12s, which use a larger end cap then a T5, and they are NOT interchangeable.

Yes, running the 4 x24 would make a huge diffrence as far as par. Especially running a shallow tank as a 20 long. One thing to benefit from T-5's is to run individuals reflectors which people tend to forget. Best T-5's to me are Tek-light fixtures.

That was part of your question, "OK so I want to know the difference between a fluorescent light and a T5 light?" Them having different endcaps is one of the differences......

Good luck.
