Green Sinileria (sp) Removal?
This thing has been in my tank since i started in the hoby. Its grown out of controll is it safe to just cut this out while its under water? I have a mostly sps and tank and dont want to have this thing kill my tank off.

Better to slice and dice while it's out of the tank. Perform the necessary cuts, maybe rinse them a bit with water from the tank (but don't add the water back to the tank). Use some activated carbon if you aren't already, just in case. And of course, frags are worth a little bit of money, so mount them with rubber bands/toothpicks.

Here's how to do it in your tank, Propagating sinularia
Doing it that way you only want to take a couple of frags every week or two. If you want to completely frag it out it's best to remove the colony from the tank first. I removed that colony, fragged it and sold the mother colony because it was in a ten gallon tank. Didn't have the room for the big coral and it was more valuable (and less work) selling the mother colony.

Don't know how big your tank is but probably not.
Use a sharp razor blade and run some carbon and you should be fine, Once you've cut it off you'll need a frag tank for the main colony. Another option is to presell the colony to another local reefer or LFS and frag it when it can be immediately transferred. If it's another hobbyist have them there to take the colony. If it's an LFS, frag when you can deliver to the store. In this case I would give a survival guarantee. Although it'll probably be fine there is a chance a large frag won't make it. Don't expect your buyer to assume that risk. The stump can/will grow back so if you don't want it there you'll have to scrape any remaining tissue off the rock.
