Which Protein Skimmer
Ok, so I currently have a 55 gallon reef tank with a few fish and some coral, but i want to upgrade to a larger tank. I am thinking about going with the standard 90g size and taking down my 55g and using it as a sump/fuge. I am trying to purchase things a little at a time and I am looking to get a new protein skimmer first because even if I don't end up getting the 90g as planned I can still use it on the 55g because the skimmer that I have now is crap. So after all that I am looking for advice on which skimmer to go with, I'd like to stick to a budget on the skimmer of around $300-$350 or less. Being that I am looking ahead there are a few things that I am having trouble with on deciding which skimmer to go with, height of the skimmer is my my main concern at the moment because I am not sure of the cabinet size that will be coming with the 90g, Is there a standard size that would come with these aquariums.. I am not sure of the brand, but it is a reef ready glass aquarium. The two skimmers that I have been looking at should not be a problem under the stand because they are not that tall but if i can get a size on what I can fit under there I may can go with some other options. The Bubble-Magus BM160 Skimmer at http://www.nuocean.com/skimmers/bubb...115v-60hz.html , and the OCT-DDNW-150 Octopus Recirculating Skimmer at http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/Protei...duct_info.html are the two skimmers that I have been looking at. If anyone could give me some feedback on these skimmers, or some ideas of what else I should be looking at It would be much appreciated. Thanks!
