Exclamation PLEASE help me stop my GURGLE! *pics*

This is driving me crazy! I can't figure out how to stop the gurgle in my new tank!

Here is the picture I used as a guideline:

Here are the pictures of my setup:

What did I do wrong? 1" PVC with a MAG 5 return.

Why do I still have a loud gurgle?

Mine still has a small girggl;e but its a quite girrgle. seems to me that air line it a bit large. I only have a itty bitty hole. But then maybe you need a bigger hole.

The water fills up in the overflow just over the 90 degree pvc pipe then quickly gets sucked to below it. Does this mean there is not enough air?

I'm no expert on this, but here are 3 suggestions:
(1) IME, adjusting the air flow through the hole is tricky. Fiddling with that might help -- try more, try less, see what sounds better.
(2) I'm not sure that you need the 90 degree elbow in your overflow box.
(3) The other thing is the way your tubing is situated as it drains into your sump. If it's "too submerged" it creates back pressure that causes gurgling. Not submerged enough, and that will gurgle too.

What's the easiest way to do this? Should I make the hole bigger? Can it be too big?

Thanks for the help

As for testing it right now, you can just put your thumb over the hole, apply various amounts of pressure, and see if that makes a difference.
But Yes, the hole can be too big. If you think it needs to be bigger, increase the size only slightly, and work your way up.
I've used a venturi valve from a powerhead to make adjustments.
I also had one that was drilled too big that I stuck a twig in

Larger hole with a longer airline will help your problem. When the airline is made larger and longer it acts just like a muffler.

Well after taking the tube out and drilling the hole a little bit larger it solved my problem!

Is it ok to not have an airline tube in the hole?

It should be fine. A lot of dursos don't have airline tubing inside the hole, including mine.
