Octopus NW series protein skimmer. Thoughts!!
Hello. I was curious what everyones input was on the octopus protien skimmers. I will be using it on a 40g breeder which will possibly be upgraded to a 75 in the future. I am using a coralife superskimmer right now and the thing will not perform for me at all. Any input on this model would be appreciated.
Thanks. |

I upgraded from the super skimmer 65 to the NW110 on my 40 breeder. I love the NW110 it is awesome, puts the super skimmer to shame.

I have a 75g with a 40b sump/refugium and run a NW-200. I absolutely LOVE it! If you plan to upgrade in the near future and have the sump room for it now, the NW200 will get you set for your planned upgrade and will rock your current system until then.
I planned to do the mods for mine, even bought the mesh, but I just don't feel it's neccessary at this point. |

Do the mods! I did makes a huge difference. The stock venturi has a reducer that really hurts the skimmers air intake. I did the 1/4 inch barb venturi mod and the mesh mod.
