What is the smallest tank you ever set up?

I just set up a 2.5 gal tank with some LR to start a cycle. I'm I wasting my time or can this be done? I know I will have to keep on top of my water levels. I'm looking for pictures or info.

I remember seeing someone do a 1 gallon dt with a 1/2 gallon or so fuge. It had a wood canopy with led lighting. I really was like a mini reef tank.

I sucked an isopod into a pipette then looked at it. Does that count?

I had a 0.9 gal pico for a little while, but like said already, to much work to keep up on.
