white mound with air tube?

Any idea what this is?

I have a cleanup crew in my new 120 gallon tank. There is 100 pounds of live rock and I have spotted brittle stars and one brittle worm. The cleanup crew includes several types of snails, peppermint shrimp, emerald crabs and there was a lettuce nudibranch in there for a few weeks but he hasn't been seen for two days.

I also spotted (and got a picture of) a 2" mantis shrimp that I can't trap and haven't seen but the one time. Several peppermint shrimp have disappeared so I think he might still be in there.

This white tube has a bubble at the top that keeps it floating in the current of the return inlet. The mound looks like a thick web material that is hollow. Any idea what this is?
