Best powerhead

Hello

I like to put some powerhead in my 210 gallon tank 84x24x24

for strong circulation, but I'm not sure which powerhead to get

and also I do not know if i should put 2 or 4.

i need some suggestions!

Tunze and Vortech produce the best powerheads by far. I personally use Tunze - they really can move some water.

I use Tunze on a 5 ft 110 and on a frag tank. They really do move water.

I like vortechs too, but have not used them. They have the advantage of no electronics submerged in the water. The motor is on the outside of the glass ans magnetically drives the impeller on the other side of the glass.

The believe the Tunze only run < 24 volts to the water though, which is not very dangerous.

For a long tank like that, a pair of the new Tunze 6105 Stream 2s would be nice. For even more flow, the 6205s. AFAIK, they will be out this month.

For that size tank, I would recommend the vortechs. The wide flow and low profile are what sold me

IMO, the Vortech MP40W is the powerhead of powerheads.

There's a guy in my local club who has 2 of them w/the batt back up on his 90g. With both pumps at full blast they create little vortexes that cruise across the tank. He keeps them dialed back.

Do they need to be controllable? You could get a pair of Tunze 6085s for ~ $400, or 6080s for ~ $300.
