for that price it better be silent and able to pump the water out of a swimming pool in 5 minutes!

I saw it at MACNA. It is definitely an impressive piece of machinery.

This pumps has 6600 gph of flow ,is the second largest in the range ,the smaller ones are much cheaper .
They could be used for closed loop applications combined with the controller ,you will be able to run multiple pumps in synchronous or Asynchronous way to creat random flow in the tank ,it will eliminate the need to use devices like ocean motion,powerheads,... We are designing a tank for our headoffice with 2 RDIIs ,with 2 holes in the tank bottom @ the opposite corners of the tank for intake & 4 exits on the back pane. The 2 pumps will be running Asynchronous ,that should creat a rocking semi wave action as well. many features such is night mode & different failsafes. the head pressure on this pump is 26.5'. Titanium shaft ,with SC bearings ,brushless DC. |

seems impressive. How quiet are the RDs compare to the reeflo with baldor? Are they as silent as the Velocity T3/T4 pumps?

But at that price point, wouldn't it be more accurate that oceansmotions woul be more popular on CL applications versus two of these?

These are dead silent
Again as I mentioned the smaller ones will be much cheaper, this one is used for larger tanks & alsoless headaches for pluming,... looks better than having multiple powerheads in the tank. with the ocean motion you will not have the ability of running pumps Asynchronous ,this will be different flow. Ofcourse there are many different ways of creating flow in the tank & different preferences. |

Very nice pump but I'm not sure I see the replacement of an OM CL or quality powerhead application.
An OM CL setup is typically a 4 way unit. Many use an 8 way OM. I dont think many would consider 4 or 8 pumps as being practical or economical. As far as replacing powerheads. A Tunze 6301 or the new 6305 does 7,900+ GPH @ 64W. You could get a pair of 6201s, or 6205s for a total GPH of 11,600 GPH @ 110W

I like the sound of much cheaper but coming from Germany I will not get my hopes up to much. .Klaus are there any pictures with the smaller pump on say a 120 gallon tank showing how you do the Asychronous motion. Would this be used as the main pump return or as a closed loop system? Thanks for another great product moving the hobby in a better direction.

Here are all the RD pumps that are listed @ P.A.:
http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merch...Code=reddragon As far as I can tell, only the one in this thread is DC and controllable.

Subermsible is the Pump Deadsilent.... i am a big Fan from submersible Pumps... so much more silent.... @Price.... 1.999.- Dollar is real a good Price. The Cost of this Pump is in Germany 1.495.- Euro = 2.242.- Dollar. @gcarroll... thanks for the nice Pictures.... :-) regards... |

The pump listed/shown, is that $2000 with the controller or just for the pump and the controller is an additional purchase?
