surface skimmer

hi this is my first time to the site...i was refered by a friend to here for all of my questions...so here it goes

i have an above ground pond and was wondering if there was a cheap surface skimmer i tried pond supply stores but either to big or to expensive...my pond is about a 5x5 square so i dont need a HUGE one thats rated for thousands of gallons

is there a way i can make one

its not like a fish tank where i can have an overflow box or a filter below the tank the water has to go up

Just make a diy overflow box for your pond, same concept I imagine.
