Drilling my sump
I have an Acrylic sump that I like to drill for 1" and 3/4" bulkhead
Can i use stand drill bit? what size should I use? any tips ? |

No You have to use a glass cutting hole saw bit. Grab one on bulkreefsupply.com. They have them for the different sizes that you need. Good luck and also go on youtube there are videos of how to do this on there.

u dont need a glass bit to drill acrylic. a hole saw for wood will work just fine.

Also, from what I've read (having never actually done it myself), you want to make sure and go slow and light enough that you actually cut the acrylic rather than melting it. I'm not sure if a clay reservoir for cooling water can be employed for this?
