Refugium Lighting Requirements

Hello,

Newbie here. I wanted to know what is the lighting requirements for a 12g refugium. It will housed live rock, live sand and some macroalgae, may be some cleaning crew such as snails and hermit crabs.

Thanks in advance, glad I found you guys. Learned a lot already from all the past postings.

If you are going to have a 12g refugium, go to walmart or home depot, or something like that and buy just a shop light with the aluminum circle reflector and buy a Compact Flourescent bulb like a 65 Watt equivalent one that is 6500K ( Blue Package) and use that. But you don't want to really put any cleaning crew in the refugium. Especially hermits, they are predators of what you are trying to grow in a refugium. Hope this helps!
