Where to buy 80' of vinal hose???

I'm moving here shortly and I've checked all the local Lowes and hardware stores and nobody has enough....I'm in need of 80' of vinal hose. I'm pumping water from my system into a holding bin in the back of a truck.

LMK if you guys have any idea where to get this from (I'm moving on Wednesday).

I found one place, www.hosexpress.com that carries it in 100' rolls. I'm just not sure if they could have it to me by Wednesday.

TIA!

Lowes carries that much, I believe. Home depot does not.

In a worse-case scenario, I suppose you could buy everything from a couple stores and connect it together with PVC barbed fittings and hose clamps... I wouldn't count on a company/delivery service getting it to you in time for the move. :-(

don't use garden hose. Either get RV hose, or use the barbs to connect 2 pieces of hose together.

If you hook a garden hose to your faucet and flush with hot water that should be fine. I am sure it would be just as clean as the holding container on your truck. If your really worried, buy a couple of RV water hose and flush them first.

Logzor, Lowes only carries it in 75' rolls, which I could probably get away with, but they dont stock extra rolls. the local Lowes have 15' at one store, and 25' at the other so it wouldn't be nearly enough.

I'm still skeptical to use a garden hose even flushed. The holding bin I bought specifically for this purpose (new), and I cleaned it well yesterday with H2O and Vinegar bath. The "truck" I reffered to is actually the trunk of my Focus wagon

I found a Granger nearby thats supposed to have a 100' roll in stock...so I will be calling them first thing in the morning. Hopefully they still have it and I can grab it. All the places online I found were around $150 not including shipping The guy at Granger I spoke with on the phone said $75 (no shipping) . We'll see.....

Thanks for all the replies!

I'm not so sure what the difference would be between a Vinyl garden hose and 80' of Vinyl hose. The metal ends? These could be cut off and replaced.

Scott,

Lots of time the garden hose has plasticers that are not reef safe. That is what makes RV hose more expensive than normal garden hose.

Thanks Kim. I dont know anything about "plasticers" and vinyl hose. The bulk stuff doesn't use that? I've used the clear, black and the stuff with the braided look in various apps. I assume that is all safe?

BTW, Savko has tubing

As far as I know the normal clear and black hoses are safe, but normal garden hoses use some plasticers that are toxic. If you look at the labels most of them say that it is not safe for drinking water.

I hope this link works. It is from Lowes and about 1/3 of the way down under type they even say not to use it for drinking.

I picked up my tubing today at lunch....I found 100' roll at the local Grainger. Came out to be just over $80.

I didn't even think to look at savko....I feel so dumb now I buy 99% of my PVC and such through them...oh well. Looks like it would've been more expensive including shipping anyways.

In hindsight looking at the link that kgross provided it appears you could use a garden hose, just get one made for "Marine, Boat, etc" that they list. Oh well, hindsight is a b**ch anyways.

Thanks again for all the replies!

That is why I said in the my first post on this thread to get the RV hose. I think it would have cost less, and been a lot easier to find.
