Way to get rid of brown algea??
Hi there.
I noticed that turning off the lights for a day or two gets rid of all brown algea, is it a good idea doing this regularly?

If you dont attck the source It will come back. I did a 3 day lights out only to have it come back a few days later. I cleaned the tank really well and did a few water changes and it has dissapeared.

it will usually go away on its own. I would check your nitrate level and see if its high. Something may be fueling the algae.
