Anyone have pics of Giesemann POWERCHROME Pure Actinic 420nm only

Looking for pics of these lamps on. I am planning on using two of these for the dusk/dawn effect on my 90g reef (7 bulb aquaactinics).

If anyone could post a pic I would be thankful!

Will using these bulbs detriment my PAR too much? I will be growing a lot of SPS. Does the benefit of a nice dusk/dawn effect and actinic lighting actually do anything besides visual looks for me?

I've just installed two of these over my tank for just the effect you have mentioned. I'll try and get a picture tonight. I was using Guiesemann powerchrome Actinic + and thought that the pure Actinic would look better but ( and I know this is purely a matter of personal taste) although it does give better flourescecne it makes everything glow and look kind of artificial. It also has a pinkish hue which just looks wierd IMO.I'll be swapping the Actinic+ tubes back in as soon as I get chance but I'll get pictures of both for you.

The major brand pure/super/true actinics (420nm) all are very similiar in color. There are slight variations with some being slightly bluer or slightly more of a purplish hue and slight differences in output. But the 420nm lamps are the lowest par of all the popular T5 colors. They are used for color supplementation of the overall look of the tank as well as bringing out the color in some of the corals and dawn/dusk effect. They arent the bulbs to use to increase par. Anyway, if you can find a picture of any of the main super actinic brands, you will have a good idea of what the giesemann brand bulbs look like. The differences in cameras and monitors and how they make things look from a color perspective is not going to give you a super accurate idea of what the bulbs will look like, just a general idea if you are lucky. And showing the subtleties between the different brands with the differences that exist in the way different cameras and monitors show color isnt likely to be accurate at all.

As a general description, the 420nm lamps produce a purplish color and again, they are not very bright compared to the other T5 "colors".

Sure! Maybe I will only keep one of these in my fixture.

I ordered:

2 of the giesemann pure actinic
3 blue plus
2 blue special

What should I swap one out for, a procolor or a fiji?
