weird tank system
Here is the set-up... I have two 40g long tanks running to the same sump (skimmer & fuge). Here is what I find exceptionally odd. I have found flatworms in tank A, including an original colony that went months untreated, but have never found them in tank B. I have a huge problem with bubble algea in tank B, but none in tank A. Long term inhabitants of tank A: small sailfin tang, watchman goby, coral beauty (now deceased, got stuck in a rock). Long term inhabitants of tank B: green mandarin, emerald crab (recently added). Any suggestons on why I am having these problems show in only one of the tanks? I'm more curious than concerned. As soon as my 125g is stable and the lights are finished much of the livestock will be moved to that tank.

Just a guess, but I'd say the mandarin ate the flatworms in tank B, and the tang & angel stall the growth of bubble algae by constantly picking at the rockwork (it's phenomenal to watch what will grow out of bare LR once you remove grazing fish).

That was my guess, but I keep getting told that mandarines won't eat fw and tnags/ angels won't eat bubble algae. I hope this is the case, both fish will be going into the same tank soon.
