have you run all the typical water tests yet? What is your maintenance schedule, how old is your live rock?Are you using RODI water to make up your saltwater. Red slime is typical of excess nutrients. There are products that can get rid of it but without fixing the problem it would just come back.

From what I have read so far:
change your lights;
decrease feeding;
increase skimming;
replace crashed corals with fine aragonite;
INCREASE FLOW;
add snails/hermits/sand sifters;
discard debris-accumulating media aka undergravel filter, sponges, filters, bioballs, pads, etc;
run phosphate-removing media for a few days.
the more of these methods you use at the same time, the better.
Good luck!

...and never use tap water. Buy RO/DI filter unit or hit Walmart's Culligan center for RO/DI water (.33$/gallon)

when doing a water change try sucking some of it up with the hose, it will help a little bit but you really need to figure out what exactly is the root of the problem.. Water changes once a week instead of twice a week helped me when i had the same problem!
