clown fish hosting leather
anyone have this problem? the problem is the leather doesnt like it and just shrivells up, the clown does sometimes leave it alone and then the leather comes back out and when fully open and thriving again the clown decides to go in again, and the cycle begins all over, who else has this problem and is there a cure? apart from getting an anemone? if not the clown may have to go

my clown does this in my toadstool, but the toad doesn't seem to mind. sometimes it does get mad but it always comes back. the same clown once hosted in a torch and the torch ended up dying from it. the best thing to do is remove the clown and give the leather some time to recover w/ o the clown there.

My clowns do this. They were in a toadstool that wasnt bothered. I rearranged my tank and now they are in a colt leather and both are doing well.

One of my friends had a clown that was hosting in his toadstool too. He said that the toadstool didn't like it at first but soon got used to the clown and wouldn't retract its polps. How long has this been happening in your tank?

It's typical that the clown does this. I had a 10inch leather and my paired clowns loved it for a home. They all were happy...the polyps extended nicely. Leather loves flow...so keep that in mind. At least mine did.
