Clear "slime" on LR
I have a tank quarantine tank that I keep running year round. It had several Zoas and soft corals, but no fish. I change water, etc but do not feed the tank. Recently some of the LR is is covered with a clear jelly like slime. I did a large water change, but its still there. The tank parameters are WNL. Ideas?? R

There are a few 1-2" tall Devils Hand frags. They are doing fine.
The tank is only 15G with a HOB and 2 PHs. The tank/rock is probably 3 years old. The stuff looks like KY jelly. Maybe that's how they make it. |

Sounds like bacteria.
Do you dose anything to that tank? here's another thread where a clear jelly like material took over: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...readid=1482809

Rickh, I am sorry to revive this somewhat old thread, but I am having the same problem. I have a thread in the new to the reef forum(I don't think I should have put it there).
How is your tank doing and how have you dealt with this? Is there a way to deal with this other than breaking down the whole tank? Thank you, Jill |
