Can I make baffles out of starboard?
I’m gona have extra starboard left over and was wondering if I could use it for my baffles in a 20high glass AGA tank. Do you think it would hold with just silicone or would I be better off getting glass cut to size?

Silicone won't stick well to starboard so the question would be how to mount the stuff. Glass would be the better option

starboard will work as well as acrylic would. to which the answer is "well enough, depending"
as was said, silicone will not stick to acrylic, or starboard. but thats not nescessarily a problem. if the starboard is thick enough, as in ridgid under the pressure needed, then you can form a "trench" around the starboard, essentially locking it in place. you wont get a 100% water proof seal on it most likely, but since baffles are purely to route water, it will accomplish this just fine. if your pumps are off and the compartments equalize out over the next hour or 2 because its slowly leaking around the edges, its not a big deal typicly. the starboard needs to be ridgid though, as I said, your forming a trench around the board on both sides, if the board flexes it will be able to pull out of the trench, and thats not going to work
