Please help ID
I have an organism that has been growing on one of my rocks. It is a brownish almost black substance that looks like a mushroom without a stem. It began as a small spot and grew quickly to it's current size, about 1 1/4" in diameter and 1/4 to 3/8" thick. It is spongy or rubbery to the touch but fairly tough. It is well fixed to the rock. It seems to have stopped growing. My water parameter are all well within range and i don't see any evidence of any others. Thes pics are not the best but hopefully you'll get an idea of the appearance.

Small Pics
Yeah I know. That is the biggest I can get without exceeding the size limit. I cropped and reduced the size. maybe the original resolution was too high. Anyone have any suggestions on the secret to reducing file size while maintaining the picture size. I did jusyt sign up as a premium member so I'll be able to upload larger files.

I just signed up for photobucket. It's a heck of a lot easier than using the gallery on RC, the photo sizes are bigger. Try uploading your pictures again so we can see what you are talking about.
