Ice Cap 660?s

I just got a ice cap 660 to run my 3 VHOs over my 90. I got the ballast used, so I don't have any of the paper work on it. Is there a place I can possibly download a manual or any paper work on it? I got the wiring diagram from the Ice cap web site.

Also, is there anything I need to do special as far as wiring this goes that is not on the diagram? What size wiring? I plan on mounting the ballast in my cabinet with all my other electrical, so from ballast to end caps I am looking at around less than 10ft but will go with that to be on the safe side. Probably closer to 8 in all reality.

Any tips or suggestions before I start would be great. I have some after market water proof end caps now, do i need to just chuck those and go with the Ice cap ones, or will these work? How bulky are the IC end caps? I have just over 48" in my canopy, so space will be tight with a 48" bulb. I was told by premium aquatics that the 48" bulb with the IC end caps would fit in my canopy just fine.

Get the Icecap Endcaps. They come in two parts, mounting bracket and end cap. Not cheap but I think they are worth it.

The wiring harness that comes with 660 is 6ft. You can get an extension that gets you another 6 ft. Once again not cheap, but it's easier than trying to extend each wire.

Have fun

+1 with catman. the best route is to order the wiring harness from IC. I have a set of IC endcaps that are probably 15 years old and going strong. well worth the investment.

Thats cool. I will try that then. I have the wiring diagram already, but thanks for the link. I will just try to order the endcaps and the wireing harness.

I hate that the IceCap harness wires are only 6ft long! I DIY'd my own 16 pin harness extension from Radio Shack for an extra 10ft.

How did that work for you? I have all that stuff here at work I guess I could try it myself. Preuss Pets in Lansing MI has used ones for sale.
