Too much light for a frag tank? 8x54W T5's
So I'm starting to wonder about my T5 setup and if I have too much light
55G 4 foot tank, with two tiers of frag racks. 8x54W of T5 (46.5" bulbs), currently half on for 12h, other half for 11h. Fixture uses standoffs for the light to sit 6" above water level. bulb setup is 3 10k, 1 12k and 4 actinic |

how did you fit 8 bulbs above a 55g if you need 2.5" for each bulb? what are your 55's demensions?

Tank is 4 foot, light is 4 foot, bulbs are 46.5"

since your using one large reflector you should be fine...if those where individuals you would probably cook them a bit for a while...the coral would acclimate to it eventually either way i would think...i have seen 250mh over ten gal tanks..
