Ugh, when do I change them?

I completely forgot how long you should have MH bulbs before changing them. Is it 9 months?

I change mine every 12. generally speaking I would say between 9-12. you'll get a lot of different answers. All things being equal...you can let your corals tell you when to change.

Reefkeeping online magazine did a study of this. The bulbs they studied maintained 70% of their output at 18 months, 66% at 24 months and 63% at 27 months.
Manufacturers advise to replace anywhere from 6 to 12 months, but hey - they're in business to sell light bulbs.

Depends on what you have in the tank. Lots high need SPS then I would change out at 9 months. Low light needing LPS go 18 months...
