New and looking

So I'm pretty new to reef tanks. I recently got a 40 Gal Reef tank fully setup for an amzing price. T5 VHO lighting, wet dry, the works. I have it full of nice live rock, but have very little in way of corals.

Here is a picture of it before I added all my rock.

Now Im looking for good additions and places to get them with good deals.

So any one have suggestions?

Shane

Welcome aboard, and holy green star polyps! What do you mean there's not much in the way of coral, almost every surface is covered in something. Good luck with the setup, and thanks for sharing!

Here is a picture after I added the LR in a week ago. This was right after so nothing is open right now.

I'm going to look at getting a couple leathers and maybe something else in polyps area then be done for now. Start to harvest some of my xenas that are growing like weeds.

may be time to harvest the gsp as well, as it can be rather invasive and cover just about anything (coral included). but the tank is looking good thus far, keep at it.

Depends somewhat on what you are looking for. SPS and Zoas are all over the selling forum here with good prices (even including shipping). Lots of acans and a few frogspawn and hammers there too. Much better pricing than most online retailers. However, if you are looking for more softies or different LPS, you may want to check out your local shops and some of the sponsors of this board.

Very nice start. IMO if you are going more towards the reef end, I would get rid of the wet/dry filter, they can be very big nitrate factories and corals arent as forgiving as a lot of fish are.

Just my $0.02
