Dictyota Algae
I have the Dictyota algae in my tank and it is starting to spread. I have a few emerald crabs that I ut in, as well as Tangs and a foxface. Will that work or is there something else? Please help before it gets out of control. My water is good and no problems noted there.

This is one that commonly does not get eaten by herbivores. Let me go get my Sprung book, he recommended something but I can't recall........
Well, he does say that diadema urchins and emerald crabs will eat it. Now that's not to say they will eat yours, nor will they likely eat it all. They may not even eat it at a useful level. It just doesn't seem to be one of the more "tasty" varieties of algae.

I had an outbreak of this in my tank and I used Diadema Urchins as well as a two-barred rabbitfish (Siganus Doliatus).

I had a massive outbreak of this nuisance in my old tank. It would clog my Tunze's and it just kept spreading. Finally I tried a Naso tang and the tang mowed it down and wiped it out.
