i have read these fish need to be kept in groups, and they need to be fed 4 times a day.

They are very timid. Totally normal to hide when first introduced. I think it took a few days for mine to stay out in the open. Since you only have one other fish, might not be so bad. Took a little time to get it to start eating too. In a 60 gal, probably just keep one. I have only one in a 90.
Good luck. |

In the wild, they spend their days under overhangs and in caves so it's probably not a big fan of bright light. Perhaps making more caves, especially one or two large ones, would give it some shady swimming space. Once it has a spot its comfortable in, it should feed from within that spot (sunbursts are sit-&-wait predators). Agree with g stone that it needs to be fed very frequently. Eventually, it will likely adjust to your lighting and venture out in the direct light. Kind of goes without saying, though, that it would be good to get it eating asap.
