bare bottom?
what do people do for bare bottom tanks? Paint the bottom? Should i be afraid of stuff sliding off rocks and onto the glass? Thanks.

My bottom is full commando.
Some people use starboard to cover their bottoms. You can paint the bottom. IMPHO it will eventually be covered in coraline.

Yep, you can leave it completely bare, rock slides would be a pain but I don't think there's a large risk of breaking the glass. I put a cutting board from www.customcuttingboards.com on the bottom of my tank, though others use simple HDPE sheeting from a plastics store (I imagine it's cheaper).
