Pics of my Pistol Shrimp

I was able to get some pictures of one of the pistol shrimp I caught this summer. So far he's been a model citizen.

Maybe 2" long. That's on the back of a maxijett 1200 so those round things on the side are the suction cups, if that helps for comparison.

Lucky you. I haven't seen my pistol shrimp since I let him loose in the tank and he scurried under some rock.

On the coast of North Carolina. I have two of them in this tank. A friend and I are setting up a local tank and there are about five in that one.

Pretty cool! I have 4 or 5 pistols that hitchhiked in some LR I brought home from the Caribbean. They are a lot of fun...they are sooooo loud!

I think they do it at night because they're scared My German Shepherd use to charge out into the yard every night barking like he was about to tear something's head off. I think he did it kind of hoping if there was anything out there it would take off...LOL
