AC to DC adapter hum

I just bought an AC to DC adapter at Walmart to run two computer fans for my canopy. It is the Powerline 0900-76. I got everything hooked up and the adapter is making a high pitch hum when it is plugged in. The fans work. Is that normal? I called the manufacturer and the person answering the phone had no idea.

Thanks for the response. I don't know if I can trust it, so I will have to use something different. Wasted $15 on it and I can't return it because I cut the end off.
