Rain water safe??????
I had about 40 gallons of salt water mixing outside of my patio and forgot to cover it. Last night, it rained, I think about 5 gallons of rain water gotten into my salt water. I want to know is it safe to use it? Should I just mix new water instead?

If it fell directly from the sky, I'd use it. If it collected on your roof and ran into it, I might not.

Depending on where you live it would matter. Ever hear of acid rain? I live near Detroit (a pretty industrial area) and I wouldn't trust the rain.

If you live in a place with low air pollution levels, I would think it wold be okay. If not, chuck it. there's a reason the air feels cleaner and fresher after a rain.

5 gallons in SoCal, in one day? makes me glad we get 4-12 inches of snow everyday for six months of the year here! (Northern BC)

test the water if it tests ok use it if it doesnt dont,
i see people advising against natural sea water on here, and advise against natural light, even though the reefs they are trying to imitate live in natural sea water and feed off natural sun light, and id take the profesional chemists word on it
