i want to know how to frag

hello all,

i have a couple of questions about fragging. i got a couple of pieces of millapora from a fellow local reefer that were not on a frag plug or disk and i was wanting to make it easier on me and put them on frags so i can put them in my tank without my fish being able to pick on them. every frag i have put in there my neon dansil will go over and try to pick it out of the spot and he always succeeds when its not on a plug or disk, so this is my main motivation for doing this. i have the plugs and the gel superglue like i read i need.

1 how long can i have this frag out of water before it dies?

2 does the piece im gluing have to be dry(like the bottom of the frag to the plug?

3 i have heard of people using toothpicks for shrooms wont that kill them?

i have watched a couple of fraggings on you tube just making me scratch my head more so any info on this topic is good info.

thanx in advance mike

1.almost all corals can last out of the water long enuff to frag and glue them.Sps can be left out for longer time ..they get left out in the wind and sun at low tide in the ocean
2.It dose work better if the pecie is damp or dry..just dry off the plug and i just pat the end of the frag wiht a towel or what ever then glue away
3 i have heard of toothpick or stanless steel pins to hold them down.should only take a few days for them to grab on then take the pin or toothpick out
