its a good price, that light will not put out much light for coral. what tank is it for and what do you want to keep?

If its fish only then its plenty of light. If you were looking for corals then some low light corals would live under that light. Its a 96 watt? Thats what I run over my 30 gallon FW planted tank. Not sure the dimensions on a 20 long but that could be one.

I used to keep mushrooms and a few rics under a 29 gallon under a single 55 watt PC bulb (what would today be a 65 watt). THey looked ok but didn't seem to grow much. It was only a few months before I upgraded so IDK how they would do long term. as far as crabs and shrimp they will be fine even in the dark. I would ask how old the bulb is. One issue w/ PC bulbs is they need replaced about every 6 months. replacing the bulb is a cost to figure into how good of a deal it is

live rock will be fine. It will even grow nice purple corraline algae under that light. From what it sounds like you are looking for in a light it seems like a good deal. new this fixture is more than 100 bucks.

I personally would Not run PC lights.
They don't last as long as T5 do nor do they put out as much light What looks like a good deal is not always the case Good Luck |
