There's no such thing as a miracle bottled bacteria. If you need a source, get some sand or live rock from a clean and well-maintained tank.

Nothing good happens fast in this hobby. It's a lifelong commitment. A few more weeks now isn't even a drop in the bucket.

Consider, for example, that clownfish can live for several decades in the wild. Or the fact that coral colonies can live for hundreds of years!

So, take your time, and consider it a learning experience. If you get bored, set aside 15 minutes a day, pick a piece of live rock, and stare at it. You'll be amazed at all the life you see. Even better, do it at night with a weak flashlight.

i used nitromax in my 12 tank fish only system and never went through a cycle . it's been 6 years and i have seen nothing bad of it . i started out with 21 clownfish and seeded every 3-4 days after 3 wks i removed the clowns and started adding fish . i have had no ill effects from this being done . absolutely no spike at all , so something went right cant and dont want to explain . it did cost me $100 to do this to a 300gal system !

i've used cycle and also stability. i'm not sure if it worked or not, however, i didn't get any spikes that people said i would during the curing process. i had a damsel, some corals, and a sea urchin that have lived since the beginning. i doubt its a bad idea, although a lot would say its a waste of money... i have heard of some people dosing with vodka, to stimulate good bacteria growth.

Cycle does help to add bacteria but the best bet is to wait. Watch the vodka trick, it too works but has hazardous potential. Dosing amounts are extreamly important and often debated

IMO, all the bacteria additives area gimmick, do they hurt? I don't think so but I don't think they really help either. Best bed, good live rock & patience, every tank cycles.......

With 21 clowns cycling a tank why did you need bacteria supplements as well?
