Can anyone recommend good quality light timers?
Well, I just killed my second set of Coralife dual timers in less than a month. This is very frustrating. Does anyone know a good quality brand of timers that I won't have to worry about that will run 3 - 250 watt halides and 2 -96 watt PC's?
Thanks Steve |

The everday variety with the turning dial that every hardware shop sells is very reliable.

Hardware stores---Just make sure you get one with a grounding plug.
Marine depot also has a current usa brand timer. It has two plugs per timer and breaks down to 15 min intervals. It is under 10 bucks.

I used the digital timer, its got 2 outlets on it, and little digital display on top. worked for me for many years to power 500w of MH (still use it on xmas lights)
now I use aquacontroller with DC8 though.

This may be pricey but I like the INSTEON control system which evolved from the X10 system. The components are available from www.smarthome.com. At a minimum, you would purchase a "SmartLinc" Controller and an "OutletLinc" wall receptacle.
