how to kill halimeda
some halimeda hitched on a gsp rock i bought and i dont want it cause it uses the Ca in my system. how do i kill it?
i've alreads tried plucking it out but it quickly grew back |

I think you'll quickly find yourself less concerned about some pesky Halimeda sp. and more concerned about an plague-level population of GSP. It grows fast and encrusts to anything and everything.
As for your current concern, I would just keep pulling it out as you see it, and consider yourself lucky it's not a more invasive species such as Caulerpa prolifera or Caulerpa racemosa. The calcium it uses is minimal, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. |

I placed the gsp frag in the sand. I heared it doesn't like sand

You won't have to worry about the GSP if you keep it on the sand bed. Just make sure it doesn't touch any other rock or glass in your tank. The Halimeda won't use enough calcium to worry about if you keep it trimmed it will use even less and can actually be a nice additin to your tank.

Yea, I like Halimeda. And if you can truly keep the GSP on the sand bed, you'll be fine.
