Should I FW Dip LR
I am going to put some live rock in my QT tank. Should I give them a FW dip before doing so?
Thanks

Generally not. WHere is the rock coming from? Is it cured LR?
Dipping will generally kill off a lot of benefical bacteria. If it is good clean LR from an established tank, you should be good to go just putting it in. As little air touch time as possible is also suggested.

and omg, no.
Best thing for a qt tank is a few PvC elbows. If ich turned up in qt, you would have to throw out the live rock. It is a parasite that could ride the live rock back to your tank. And medication for ich would kill the rock.

Ah! Not a bad notion, that: what you're primarily looking for will be crabs and rooted algae, notably caulerpa. But don't freshwater dip it. That would damage it.

I dipped my LR in 1.03 SG water for 2 to 3 minutes. A number of hitch hikers came out (a nudibranch, a couple of bristle worms, some sea stars, and tiny crab).

High salinity and coral
Suppose you have a zoanthid colony affixed to the LR...would a 2-3 minute high salinity dip harm the coral?
