I've had a toadstool for years and have never seen it do that.

Hammers, yes.

Toads, no.

weird! Never seen that before. I take that back, my Galaxea sweepers look like that, LOL, but I've never seen a leather exhibit that behavior before.

Hmmmm. Tagging along.

What isnt visible in the picture is there are multiple strands. Like 4-5 threads...kinda tendon like.

A few of my fish were checkin it out, like a lure or something. Then my stupid domino damsel gobbled it up. The funny thing about that is I tried to fish him out of my tank today with hook and line. He outsmarted me big time. Now hes faced with an identicle looking offering and he enhales it!!

It makes me wonder if he attacked the leather and yanked the polyp out?

Maybe the toxins will get to him and I will finally be able to catch the little bgger!

Jay

I've never seen that on mine either. I found two new colonies under mine one day though. I read somewhere that they can reproduce. Maybe it is getting ready to release some little guys. If you are lucky you'll end up with a bonus like I did.
