My idea of natural. I need some help please!
I am currently new to the saltwater hobby, and I had a few ideas. I was wondering if any of these ideas would be any good, so I need some experts to point me out on this. I currently have:
1. 40 breeder tank 36x18x16 2. 150 gallon hW marinemix 3. Bak pak 2 w/ rio600 biofilter, protein skimmer 4. 2 20lb Live Sand Bio-Activ Live aragonite black beach ,and my ideas are to make everything seem natural. Like a carbon filter for the far left side to mimmic the deepest to the bak pak bio and venturi in the middle to mimmic whirlpools and the far right with a spray injection skimmer to mimmic the beach. I heard der were 2 stages of foam fractionation and was wondering if 2 skimmers can be more speedy in the process of breaking protein and uneeded materials. wavemakers on the left. Higher rocks on the right. black sand on the left. regular beach sand on the right, and so on. Hard corals on top. anemones on lower. annelids in the sand. and variety of fishes. crushed coral around rocks. fiji rocks to more reddish rocks right to left. I was wondering if this would be any of a good idea. Please give me some pointers if any of this would be overdoing it. I studied this barron book and did a little researching. Please suggest me something. and more heaters to the right of the tank. Please excuse any inconvenience. What i'm about to buy are these: 1. A filter with active carbon in it. 2. spray injection skimmer. 3. 3 100 w heaters since my house gets a lil chilly. 4. wavemakers 5. live rocks 6. crushed coral, corals, fishes, invertebrates. 7. heaters. any ideas on how to arrange or cancelling these because im not sure if i got it right. Oh yeah, and lighting T-5 HOs. The Nova extremes. I was wondering if this would be natural like for fish. Thank you for reading my ideas please post if you have any suggestions! |

your questions [good ones by the way] cover a lot of territory. instead of a long-winded answer, I think it'd be best just to refer you to the sticky threads at the top of this forum. great reading, and information that will save you lots of time, frustration and $$$. research, research, research and lots of patience are the key to this hobby. Wish I'd known about RC when I first started out!
read, ask more questions, read, ask... etc. before doing anything. The hobby, while fun and rewarding, is particularly unforgiving. having said that, you're on the right track by asking first. again, digest the sticky threads [warning - LOTS of information, but necessary] oh, and ..... WELCOME ON BOARD RC
