tips and tricks for a diy t-5 system

does anyone have any advice or a how to on a t-5 system for a 55gal. I want to put in a 6x54watt system. I have no wiring experince and am truely a novice at this one does any one have any advice?

Honestly after you bought everything you'd spend just as much on a fixture. Here is one on clearance though. Way cheaper than you could ever DIY it and it come with bulbs.
