id on some tenticles
like I said, I have small, thin, maybe an inch long tenticles sticking out of my live rock. they are red and white striped. I will try and get a picture of them when my wife returns with our camera, but with them being so small i am not sure I will be able to get a good picture. my tank has been up for a couple years now, for the past few months it has been a little neglected, so I dont know when they showed up.

Sounds like a mico brittle star, (?) If I am right they are a good thing and help keep your tank clean.

Sounds like micro/mini stars to me. They are good to have as stated above. They can get into places snails and crabs can't.
